I have lived in the Netherlands for a long time now. I speak Dutch and I feel Dutch. But people go on talking about Togo. They ask stupid questions. For example if there are cars and televisions and if it’s possible to marry more than one woman there. Sometimes they don’t even believe that we have electricity and computers. Or they are surprised to hear that we have. They always think badly about Africa. They think people there are poor and hungry. Sometimes I ask myself where I belong. Togo or the Netherlands? In fact I don’t belong anywhere. In the Netherlands I’ll always be a stranger and in Togo I’ll be different, too.

Let's go to Netherdam with Kwame
